Come learn more about a success story in risk assessment with state and federal experts! The Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA) is a former munitions and chemical warfare agent production site turned into a wildlife refuge. We will explore much of the 15,000 acre property with our expert guides. We will explore ecotoxicology during a second tour of the National Wildlife Repository where wildlife confiscated from airports and investigations around the country is housed.

Abstracts
You will be asked about your initial plans regarding an abstract with your registration. The answer is not binding and is purely for planning purposes.
Logistics:
- Poster presentations may only be presented in person.
- Platform presentations may be presented in person or virtually (including those for best student award).
- Abstracts are due by 5pm Mountain on March 18, 2026 via this form: https://forms.gle/89YEf5fq5Q3DJhiv7
- Presenters will be notified via email whether their abstract was accepted or not after March 18, 2026.
- Abstracts can be edited anytime between now and March 18, 2026 via the confirmation email automatically sent to the person who submits the abstract.
- Presenters for those abstracts that are accepted must be registered by the time of the conference.
- Student presenters traveling from outside the host city with accepted abstracts will qualify for student travel awards presented at the end of the meeting day regardless of the results for best student award. This travel award is not available to students presenting virtually.
Required information for abstract submission:
- Presenter name(s)
- Presentation title
- Presentation preference (platform, poster, either, platform preferred but poster as backup)
- If platform is preferred, do you plan to present in person or virtually? (in person or virtual)
- Rubric selection (Rubric 1: plan to present on a completed/nearly completed research question or on an informational topic (no research). Categories if research-focused often include background, methods, results, discussion, etc. Rubric 2: plan to present early stages of research. This may not include results or discussion.
- Abstract reading level (Free website tools that don’t require accounts to check the reading level such as hemingwayapp.com may be helpful. Preference given to abstracts submitted at 8th grade reading level or lower. Accepted presentations may or may not be at the same reading level as the abstract submission. Remember what Einstein said: “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”)
- Authors (name, affiliation, email)
- Consideration for best student award? (yes/no/NA)
- Consideration for student travel award? (yes/no/NA)
- Abstract (1500 characters or fewer which is approximately 250 words. Define acronyms when first used. A visual abstract can be emailed to rmsetac@gmail.com to support the abstract submission. This image (as .png, .jpg, or .pdf only) does not count towards the word count.)
Judging categories:
Judging is only distinguished between student platform and student poster presentations, not other factors such as which rubric was selected. The categories from both rubrics are:
- Background
- Approach/methods/(expected) results
- Oral delivery
- Format
- Participation
Other
Students:
- Submit a platform or poster abstract. If accepted, you may get money!
- Travel award: Mark your abstract as a student. If you are traveling from outside of the host city, your abstract is accepted, and you present it in person then you will get a travel award by the end of the meeting day.
- Best student award: Submit an abstract. It can be on a completed/nearly completed research question, an informational topic, or on an upcoming research topic. You may win for best student platform or poster. More details are below under the abstracts section. Winners for best student poster and best student platforms receive their awards at the end of the meeting day.
Sustaining members:
- Sustaining members provide crucial annual support to our chapter. As a sustaining member of RM SETAC, you (and your company if applicable) will:
- Receive complimentary registration at the annual RM SETAC meeting (for both days) for one person this year
- Advertise your name (and company logo if applicable) in the program and other materials for the annual meeting
- Have your name (and company if applicable) listed as a sustaining member on the RM SETAC website
- Have your name (and company if applicable) displayed at the meeting
- One person receives a one-year RM SETAC membership
- You will be able to recognize another person to receive the complimentary registration and/or one-year RM SETAC membership during registration if not you.

Dues:
- Add $10 to your registration to join RM SETAC as a student. Add $20 to your registration to join RM SETAC as a non-student. Sustaining members receive RM SETAC membership for one person.

- Everyone must register individually but there is a payment option to indicate if you or someone else is expected to pay for you.

Judging:
- Each year we gift awards for the best presentation(s) (platform or and poster(s) given by our students. Students hone skills with the feedback provided. We like to have a diversity of participants representing the diversity of fields and sectors or our profession to help judge. The five judging categories are listed in the abstracts section.
- Please consider helping our students grow. If selected, you would be notified at check in that you are a judge for either student posters or student platform presentations, not both.
- **New this year: convenient and quick electronic anonymous judging rubrics to use with your phone!**
- You will be asked about judging with your registration.
RM SETAC Board of Directors:
- The RM SETAC Board of Directors is made up of academic, government, business, and student members. We meet four times each year, including once during the annual meeting. To learn more about the board and expectations of board members, please go to https://rm.setac.org/board.
- You will be asked about your interest (or to nominate someone else) in joining the RM SETAC Board of Directors with your registration. This includes a few sentences about why you (or your nomination) may be interested in a position.
Photo release:
- Photos may be taken throughout the conference and often shared online. Best efforts will be made to remove any photos of those who do not consent.
- You will be asked about your consent with your registration.
